Description
To perform maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification work on concrete pumps, transit mixers, batching plant equipment, and related hydraulic systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all Ready-Mix equipment with minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
Hydraulic Maintenance & Repair
Perform maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems on:
• Concrete pumps
• Transit mixers
• Batching plants
• Other Ready-Mix and workshop hydraulic equipment
• Inspect, service, and replace hydraulic hoses, seals, filters, fittings, and components as required.
• Ensure hydraulic oil quality, pressure levels, and system cleanliness are maintained.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
• Diagnose hydraulic faults using appropriate tools, pressure gauges, technical manuals, and schematics.
• Identify root causes of leaks, pressure loss, overheating, or system failure.
• Carry out corrective repairs efficiently to restore equipment functionality.
Overhaul & Component Repair
Overhaul and repair hydraulic:
• Valves
• Cylinders
• Pistons
• Hydraulic jacks
• Pumps and motors
• Perform bench repairs and testing to confirm proper operation before reinstallation.
Preventive & Scheduled Maintenance
• Execute preventive and scheduled maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
• Support maintenance planning by identifying wear trends and recurring hydraulic issues.
• Ensure all work is carried out according to maintenance schedules and company standards.
Workshop & Operational Support
• Support workshop and site teams in improving hydraulic system reliability and performance.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns at plants or job sites when required.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and fleet teams to resolve complex equipment issues.
Safety, Reporting & Compliance
• Follow all HSE policies and safety procedures during maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure safe handling of pressurized systems and hydraulic fluids.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and breakdown reports.
• Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.

Requirements
Education
• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Hydraulics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience
• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in hydraulic maintenance and repair.
• Ready-Mix industry experience is mandatory, including concrete pumps and transit mixers.
• Strong exposure to workshop and site-based maintenance environments.
Technical Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, circuits, and components.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and manuals.
• Experience with high-pressure hydraulic systems used in concrete equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and under operational pressure.
• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Hydraulics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
