Description

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team and take full responsibility for managing the company’s receivables, credit risk, customer accounts, and collection activities. The ideal candidate will have strong financial discipline, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with Sales, Operations, and Senior Management to ensure healthy cash flow and reduced credit exposure.

Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Collections
• Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and follow up proactively on outstanding receivables.
• Issue statements of account, reminders, and formal collection notices.
• Maintain an updated aging report and analyze overdue accounts.
• Coordinate with Sales and Operations teams regarding delivery holds, credit issues, and customer disputes.

Credit Risk & Approvals
• Evaluate customer creditworthiness through financial analysis, payment history, and external references.
• Recommend credit limits, terms, and controls to minimize financial risk.
• Review new customer applications and ensure proper documentation is on file.

Dispute Resolution & Customer Communication
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, short payments, or disputes in collaboration with other departments.
• Maintain professional communication with customers regarding payment arrangements, queries, or escalations.
• Negotiate payment plans when necessary while safeguarding company interests.

Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare weekly and monthly receivable reports, aging analysis, and collection performance KPIs.
• Assist with cash flow planning and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, audit requirements, and accounting standards.

Cross-Functional Coordination
• Work closely with the Finance, Sales, Logistics, and Billing teams to ensure accurate invoicing and account reconciliation.
• Provide advice to management on high-risk accounts and recommend corrective actions.
• Support month-end closing by reconciling receivable accounts.

Requirements

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience
• Minimum 5 years in credit control, accounts receivable, or financial operations (experience in construction/ready-mix/industrial sectors is a plus).
• Strong understanding of billing cycles, customer accounts, and credit management principles.

Skills & Competencies
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational discipline.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Professional, firm, but customer-oriented approach.
